At Elite Fire Safety and Protection, we may be a new name in the industry — but our roots run deep.
For over 12 years, Edward Pleffner III has served as the Lead Fire Alarm Technician for the Broward County School Board, ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors across 108 schools. His journey in fire safety began long before that, inspired by his father, who spent more than four decades in the fire protection field. His dedication helped shape Eddie’s path and passion for protecting lives and properties.
With years of hands-on experience across all major fire alarm brands — including Simplex, Notifier, FCI, and more — and a reputation trusted by city fire marshals, Edward launched Elite Fire Safety and Protection to deliver a higher standard of service.
What sets us apart? While many companies offer routine maintenance and repairs, our specialty lies in rapid fault detection. We excel at pinpointing and resolving ground faults, open circuits, and shorts — the kinds of issues that can quietly drain resources and put systems at risk. With over 18 years of industry experience, Edward Pleffner III is a seasoned fire alarm professional known for his leadership, precision, and unmatched technical expertise. Edward currently serves as the Lead Fire Alarm Technician for Broward County, where he manages life safety systems across 108 schools—ensuring protection for tens of thousands of students and staff every day.
Prior to co-founding Elite Fire Safety Protection, Edward held prominent roles in fire life safety inspection with some of the most respected names in the industry. He was the Lead Fire Inspector at Red Hawk Fire and Security for 2 years, and before that, served 4 years as a Lead Inspector with Simplex Grinnell. His inspection footprint spans South Florida and Central Florida’s most high-profile commercial properties, including the Gaylord Palms Resort, Marriott World Center, Caribe Royal Orlando, and the Orange County Convention Center.
Edward is highly skilled in Notifier, FCI, Simplex, Firelite and Silent Knight fire alarm systems and panels, bringing deep knowledge of both legacy and cutting-edge technologies in system design, inspection, and troubleshooting.
Outside of work, Eddie is a proud family man. He enjoys spending time with his fiancée, son, and daughter, and is excited to welcome another baby boy into the world. When he’s not ensuring fire safety across the state, you’ll find him cheering for the Miami Dolphins, catching the latest UFC fight, or enjoying time at home with his growing crew.
